A Logansport native who was executive director of the Cass County Community Foundation in its formative years is being honored by the city this week.

Lisa Terry, who was at the helm of the Cass County Community Foundation as well as the Northern Indiana Community Foundation for many years, was named Citizen of the Week Saturday night. The announcement came during the 25th anniversary silver celebration of the foundation at the Logansport/Cass County Airport.

“Lisa was not only actively involved in the community foundation, but active in the community in many aspects,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said. “From her time spent with her Born to Act theater workshops, to her time as parks administrator and fund-raiser for an organization that consistently met matching challenges from the Lilly Endowment, she was able to coordinate our community’s good will in a collective way that drew us all together.”

Terry, a Logansport High School graduate, later served as the executive director of the Brown County Community Foundation and worked for the Indianapolis-based Damien Center.

She has been a member of Rotary Club.

The Citizen of the Week recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
