Earlier this month, he was honored as Logansport’s Businessman of the Year by the Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce.

Today, Brian Morrill adds “Citizen of the Week” to his honors. Morrill, a former executive director of the Cass County Family Y, was recognized by the Chamber for his work at Cass County Title. Mayor Dave Kitchell said Morrill’s impact on the community dates back to the early 1980s when he returned to the community after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Morrill took the reins at the Y as it began a capital improvement campaign that charted its course for the coming decades.

“Brian was an avid runner and he fostered the running community not only personally, but as a Y executive director,” the mayor said today. “Brian’s commitment to active living and fitness continued long after he left the Cass County Family Y and continues to manifest itself in coaching.”

The mayor said the community is fortunate to have Morrill’s involvement in the Logansport Parks Foundation to provide support for the park system it richly deserves.

The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes the contributions of local residents, natives or former residents. Recipients receive a $20 gift certificate to a local restaurant and a certificate from the Mayor’s Office.
