STATEHOUSE – State Sen. Randy Head (R-Logansport) will buy lunch for the first 10 first-time blood donors who attend the No Bad Blood 2018 blood drive in Miami County Saturday, Nov. 10.

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and one donation can potentially save up to three lives, according to the American Red Cross.

“Blood transfusions are used to treat people with cancer, blood disorders and serious injuries, among other things,” Head said. “I encourage Hoosiers to attend this blood drive and donate if they are able, as this one small act can be the difference between life and death.”

Head said he has donated over one gallon of blood and received a one-gallon blood donation pin.

The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Miami County Courthouse, which is located at 25 N. Broadway in Peru. The lunches with Head will be scheduled for a later date.

Hoosiers can sign up in advance to donate by visiting www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/appointment-confirmation.
