Christmas is Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018 and New Year’s Day is Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Here’s a list of holiday-related closings and special events.
Logansport City and Municipal Utilities Offices will be closed the following dates for the holiday season:
- Monday, December 24, 2018
- Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018
- Tuesday, January 1, 2019
LOGANSPORT TRASH PICKUP: Republic Services will be operating the normal schedule on Monday, December 24, 2018 but no trash & recycling pick up on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Due to the Christmas Day holiday, Tuesday routes will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday routes on Thursday, Thursday’s routes on Friday, and Friday’s routes on Saturday.
Republic Services will be operating the normal schedule on Monday, December 31, 2018 but no trash & recycling pick up on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Due to the New Year’s holiday, Tuesday routes will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday routes on Thursday, Thursday’s routes on Friday, and Friday’s routes on Saturday.

Holiday Hours for Electronic Disposal
The Cass County Recycling District will have limited hours for electronic drop off during the holidays. We will be taking items between 10am-11am and 1pm-2pm on the following days:
Thursday, December 27 and Friday, Dec. 28, 2018
Thursday, January 3 and Friday, January 4, 2019.

The Cass County Government Building (Courthouse) will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, January 1. The Commissioners Meeting will be held Monday, January 7.
The Eel Township Trustee’s Office will be closed on Monday & Tuesday, December 24 & 25 for the Christmas Holiday. The office will also be closed on December 31 and January 1 for the New Year’s Holiday.
The Logansport City Bus will have extended hours until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 and Friday, Dec. 21, but will not be running on Saturday, Dec. 22.
The Logansport Library will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, as well as Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
The Walton Library will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and 30, 2018 and January 1, 2019.
There will be no mail delivery on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018 or Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
BMV license branches: All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Saturday, December 22 through Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Wednesday, December 26.
In addition, branches will be closed Tuesday, January 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. All branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours beginning Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
All kiosks and myBMV.com online transactions will be temporarily unavailable on Thursday, December 27 from 6:30 to 11 p.m EST.
The Cass County Carousel will be open both Wednesday, December 26 and Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 1-5 p.m. Rides will be free courtesy of the Alpha Phi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Logansport Christmas in the Park will be open from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, Sunday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 24. Admission is $10 per car, but $5 discount coupons are available around the community. Find more info here.
