Here are five things we thought you might want to know, plus five upcoming events:

???? In an effort to protect patients, visitors and employees, Logansport Memorial Hospital is implementing the following visitor restrictions effective Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.
•There is a limit of two adult visitors per patient at a time.
•No children or siblings under the age of 18 will be allowed to visit at this time.
•Visitors are urged to perform hand washing frequently, including when entering and leaving the building. Foam dispensers are available throughout the buildings, and are effective against influenza virus.
•Visitors who are ill with a fever or other cold or flu-like symptoms including cough, sneezing, running nose, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea are asked not to visit patients.
•For visitors to the Family Birth Center where newborns stay, the visitor restrictions are limited to two well adults only, who will be the only two visitors allowed to see the patient –new mom and baby –through their entire stay, from admission to discharge.

???? Work is expected to begin within the next two weeks on phase 3 of the 400 South project in Cass County. Phase 3 covers the area of 400S from just west of 300W to near 175W. Drivers and residents will initially notice survey and utility work going on along the route. While the road will remain open during the early phases of the work, drivers should be prepared for personnel and equipment on and near the road. Complete closure of the road segment will come later in the project, and the closure will be announced at that time.

???? The City of Logansport is now accepting applications from non-profit organizations for 2019 charitable roadblocks. Applications can be downloaded from the new City Website http://www.cityoflogansport.org , picked up in the Mayor’s office or by emailing mevanich@cityoflogansport.org. Applications are due to Marla Evanich in the Mayor’s office on or before Friday, February 8, 2019.

???? The Cass County Community Foundation announces its 2019 “Give Your Heart to the Community” Campaign. CCCF President Deanna Crispen shared “We are very excited to once again offer our annual Valentines serenades. This signature fundraising event is now in its 23rd year and brings a smile to the faces of both young and old.”
Orders for serenades must be received by Thursday, February 7. Call the Cass County Community Foundation at 574-722-2200 for more information. Place your order today, and give your heart to the community!

???? The Logansport Parks Department’s annual Daddy/Daughter Valentine Dance, for girls 5-12 yrs., will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Angie’s Catering & Cakes, 1007 – 17th. Street. Registration MUST be made prior to the dance by going to the Park Office, 1701 Dividend Dr. to purchase your tickets, NO PHONE REGISTRATIONS! There will be a $20.00 registration fee per couple, plus $5.00 for each additional daughter. The deadline for registration is February 8 or until space is filled. Please-NO WALK-INS!
