In keeping with the theme of the International Day of Women, a leading businesswoman in Logansport has been chosen for a city award.
Annette Russell of Logansport’s Security Federal Savings Bank is this week’s Citizen of the Week. Mayor Dave Kitchell said he chose her because she not only broke a “glass ceiling” in becoming the first female bank president in Logansport, but she’s community-minded.
“Annette’s roots in Logansport run deep and she has been active in the community dating back to the Iron Horse Festival years,” the mayor said. “It’s not easy to be a bank president, but under her guidance, Security Federal furthered its presence and solidified its standing as a local bank for the community.”
Russell will receive a $20 gift certificate to a local restaurant and a certificate from the Mayor’s Office. The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes local natives, residents or former residents.
