On Friday, June 27, Chairman of the Cass County Republican Central Committee Mike Stajduhar appointed Jonathan Nelms to run for Logansport City Council At-Large on the Republican ticket.

Logansport, IN — When my family first moved to the Logansport area, I remember one of the first things we did was go to the Aldi’s which still is here today. I remember exploring around Logansport for the first time and feeling great excitement for the new life I was starting here with my family. I remember every time I would leave; I was excited to come back home. One of the things I love about this city, is that the citizens here are some of the friendliest and most welcoming I’ve seen, and I have been to forty-eight of our great states. Logansport is where I’m going to start college, at the Logansport Ivy Tech, where I hope to start the next step in my educational journey. I have seen all Logansport has to offer. From the people that live here, to the great local businesses Logansport has including a business where I held my first job, Mr. Happy Burger.

My reason for running for City Council At-Large is simple. I love Logansport and I want success here. I want success here in Logansport for generations to come. I believe strongly in working together and bridging the divide. Working for a strong future as a united city. I’m running because I believe in a fiscally responsible government, that watches very closely on all expenditures to make sure we respect the money that we, as taxpayers, allocate to the city. I’m running because this is our home. I want our home to be open, strong, and ready to have more people call this their home as well. I look forward to meeting and talking to every one of you. We must go forward with a dream in our heart, and a plan in our mind.
