Jan. 20, 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the MLK Day of Service. Americans first observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1986, after legislation was signed in 1983 to mark the birthday of Dr. King as a federal holiday. In 1994, the third Monday in January was designed as a national day of service, and the Corporation for National and Community Service was charged with leading the effort. Find more info here.
