LOGANSPORT – Park Development, LLC, the Chicago-based real-estate developer developing The Junction at Logansport, will soon start construction on a single-family market rate housing project. The homes, slated to be built on High Street and Yorktown Road, will range in size from 900 square feet to 3,000 square feet.

“When I first took office, housing was the top priority for our community,” says Logansport Mayor Chris Martin. “So far this is the largest single housing project we’ve done in Logansport. Park Development is a valuable partner in helping us move Logansport forward.”

Plans for the project, called Lexington Village, include 52 homes. Homes in the neighborhood bordered to the north by High Street will range in price from the mid to high $200,000’s. Prices for the neighborhood bordered to the east by Yorktown Road will range from $165,000 to the low $200,000’s. Renderings are attached.

“This project has been on the back burner for six years,” says Arin Shaver, executive director for the Logansport/Cass County Planning Department. “After reviewing housing studies and completed surveys, the city tapped Park Development to make it a reality. The next step is to approve the subdivision plat and finalize the construction document. We hope to see these approvals done by March, so marketing and construction of these homes can start happening this spring.”

Construction on model homes will begin this spring and could be complete by Fall 2021. The developer is working with local banks to get preferred interest rates for buyers.

“Business retention and attraction are major areas of focus for our community,” adds Bill Cuppy, president of the Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce. “Having an adequate housing supply is crucial to growing and maintaining a community’s population and the Lexington Village plan checks a lot of the boxes.”
