Cass County moved back into the yellow advisory status on the county metrics map as of May 5, 2021. Yellow indicates moderate community spread, with 111 weekly cases per 100,000 residents and a positivity rate of 5.87%. The map is updated weekly on Wednesdays.

Carroll: 1881 (3 new cases); 20 deaths, 4.6% positivity
Fulton: 1946 (4 new cases); 40 deaths, 2.7% positivity
Pulaski: 1160 (0 new case); 45 deaths, 2% positivity
Miami: 3802 (5 new cases); 66 deaths, 6.1% positivity
Howard: 9859 (22 new cases); 215 deaths, 4.3% positivity
White: 3128 (3 new cases); 54 deaths, 3.1% positivity
According to the vaccine dashboard, the first dose has been administered to 10,350 individuals in Cass County and 9475 are fully vaccinated.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 1,261 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 726,600 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 12,966 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of six from the previous day. Another 413 probable deaths have been reported to date based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,407,170 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,401,725 on Wednesday. A total of 9,939,840 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.

Appointments and walk-ups are welcome at the former Roosevelt High School in Gary, which is offering both the Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines. The Gary clinic, which runs through June 2, is offering vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT at 2401 Harrison St., Gary, IN 46407. Free transportation to and from the site is available through the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) and through a partnership between IU Health and Lyft. Language interpretation and support for those with disabilities, hearing or vision impairments are also available onsite.

As of today, a total of 4,453,018 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,406,936 first doses and 2,046,082 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
