LMU announces planned electric outage on Riverview, Clay, Highland and Tipton Streets on June 22, 2021

The Logansport Municipal Utilities’ electric department will be making system improvements all day on June 22 that require a planned electric outage for a dozen homes. The outage will be in effect up to 6 hours and an alley will be closed off while the worksite is active.

System improvements include replacing old wiring and damaged poles.

The affected homes include:

  • 319 –431 Riverview Street
  • 400 E Clay Street
  • 332 –428 Highland Street
  • 427 and 410 E Tipton Street
  • Girl Scouts Camp

There will be no access of the alley between Highland and Riverview for residents nor drivers.

Residents are advised to prepare for the planned outage with the following tips:

-Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity

-Charge cell phones-Unplug computers, televisions,and sensitive electronics.

-Notify your home security company.

-Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates.

-Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.

-Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)
