If you are currently pregnant, or already a parent,and you are still in your teenage years, you are not alone. Pregnancy and parenthood are difficult journeys to navigate for anyone, but they present unique challenges for teenagers and young adults.
A new support group at Logansport Memorial Hospital will focus on helping pregnant teens and teen parents connect with one another for encouragement and friendship during this shared experience. The support group will offer mentorship, education, and community resources for any additional assistance you might need at any point throughout the pregnancy and/or parenthood journey.
Support group meetings are led by OB Nurse Practitioner Rachel Emery from the LMPN Women’s Health Center. She will discuss topics like the physical changes you experience during pregnancy, childbirth, your mental health during and after pregnancy, childcare challenges, and more. Any topics that you want to discuss with the group can be shared and planned with Rachel anytime.
Additional details for this support group:
- Pregnant or parenting teens ages 13-20 are welcome.
- Weekly meetings every Wednesday, beginning Wednesday, June 30
- 2:30 –3:30 pm
- Meet in the Family Education Center on the second floor of Logansport Memorial Hospital.
- Enter through the Main Lobby. Take the Main Elevator up to the second floor, turn right and go straight through the double doors. Signage will be posted to help you find it.
Participating in this support group is free. Feel free to bring your own drink or snacks with you to each meeting. At this time, childcare cannot be provided. Only infants under 6 months old can attend with a parent.
