The Cass County Community Foundation announced the names of eight organizations who will be recipients of the CCCF 2021 Opportunity Grants. “Opportunity Grants are for projects of $5,000 or less that will have a positive impact in our community”, said CCCF President & CEO Deanna Crispen. She added, “ This year, due to the tremendous impact the pandemic has had regarding fundraising efforts by our grantees, our board has decided to make extra funding available for these important projects.”
CCCF Grants Committee Chair, Barrie McClain, made the announcements and presented the awards to representatives of the organizations. Those receiving funding and their projects are:
Emmaus Mission Center $4,880.00 for electrical upgrades
Cass County Humane Society $2,026.50 to repair broken walkway
Logansport Parks Foundation $4,375.00 for a sound system for community use
Logansport Parks Foundation $4,775.00 for Christmas in the Park
Psi Iota Xi $4,975.00 for speech/hearing clinic
Cass County 4H $4,920.00 for well pumphouse
State Theatre preservation $3,899.00 for sound equipment
Cass County Carousel $4,780.00 for sound upgrade and animal repairs
The total awarded in 2021 Opportunity Grants is $34,630.50. This is a record high for the program and Crispen shared, “our Board of Directors is continually monitoring the impact the Covid Pandemic has had on our nonprofits and is providing these funds in addition to the $170,000 announced earlier. Competitive Grants will be announced later this fall with proposal requests totaling more than $446,650.
