Following his graduation from high school, Shelton played football for Westminster. He continued that love of football in the backyard with his boys, his buddies, and family. He also loved basketball. Shelton enjoyed watching TV, to include anime with the kids, a new series of shows, relaxing and being outside. He enjoyed walking most of all, visiting the park, the lake, traveling, bonfires and grilling.
