EDITOR’S NOTE: We checked with INDOT and here’s what they told us on August 17:

“The contractor is currently working on the change order work for the south slope wall improvements. We were delayed getting started on this work due to permitting issues and are now looking at the date of September 3.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: We checked with INDOT on July 28, 2021 and were told that they are currently looking at August 15 as a re-opening date.

“The scope of work was changed to include the repair and addition of riprap on the south slope wall. This involves additional environmental permits to allow the contractor to work within the high water elevation/limits of the Wabash River and removing the existing stone on the slope wall to install new riprap to protect the bank.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: We checked with INDOT on July 12 and they say that the road is expected to remain closed until late July or early August.
