Cass County remains in orange on Indiana’s COVID-19 metrics map as of Oct. 27, 2021

The Indiana Department of Health updates COVID-19 county metrics and advisory levels on Wednesdays.

On Oct. 27, 2021, Cass County stayed in orange for the twelfth week, with 153 weekly cases per 100,000 residents, down from 265 last week, and a 7-day all tests positivity rate of 10.41%, up from 10.29% last Wednesday. The state’s blue metric, which indicates minimal community spread, for weekly cases per 100,000 residents is less than 10 new cases, and a 7-day all-tests positivity rate of less than 5%.

Cass County is now in the orange threshold of 100-199 weekly cases per 100,000 residents and in the orange threshold of positivity rate of 10-14.9%.

The Indiana Department of Health’s county metrics map uses data as of the previous Sunday (Oct. 24).

On the CDC’s COVID-19 transmission map, Indiana counties are in red, which indicates high transmission.

The Cass County Health Department’s testing and vaccination center is located at 1616 Smith Street in Logansport. They request that appointments be made for both testing and vaccinations.

To find a vaccination clinic near you, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211 if you do not have access to a computer or require assistance. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted at most sites.

The CDC reports that as of Oct. 29, 2021, 41.1% of the total population in Cass County, or 15,369 individuals, are fully vaccinated. This is up from 40.8% and 15,476 last Wednesday. (SOURCE: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view)

That includes 48.2% of those 12 and older; 50.7% of those 18 and older and 73.7% of those 65 and older.

16,864 individuals, or 44.7% of the total population of Cass County have received at least one dose, up from 16,757 last week.
