The Indiana Department of Health updates COVID-19 county metrics and advisory levels on Wednesdays.
On. Dec. 1, Cass County stayed in orange for the second week, having previously been yellow for most of November. Orange indicates medium to high community spread of COVID-19. Yellow is a lower status and indicates moderate spread.
This week, ISDH reported 405 weekly cases per 100,000 residents, up from 297 last week, and a 7-day all tests positivity rate of 9.6%, up from 8.15%. You can see the map at coronavirus.in.gov. (Get more info on the County Metrics Map and Guidelines here – PDF)
The state’s blue metric, which indicates minimal community spread, for weekly cases per 100,000 residents is less than 10 new cases, and a 7-day all-tests positivity rate of less than 5%.
Cass County is in the red threshold of 200 or more weekly cases per 100,000 residents and in the yellow threshold of positivity rate of 5-9.9%.
Fulton County went back to red, with a positivity rate of 16.22%. Red indicates very high positivity and community spread.
The Indiana Department of Health’s county metrics map uses data as of the previous Sunday (Nov. 28).
On the CDC’s COVID-19 transmission map, Indiana counties are in red, which indicates high transmission. The CDC reports a 24.7% positivity rate for Cass County for Nov. 22-28, 2021.

The Cass County Health Department’s testing and vaccination center is located at 1616 Smith Street in Logansport. They request that appointments be made for both testing and vaccinations.

To find a vaccination clinic near you, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211 if you do not have access to a computer or require assistance. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted at most sites.
The CDC reports that as of Dec. 1, 2021, 42.1% of the total population in Cass County, or 15,876 individuals, are fully vaccinated. (SOURCE: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view)
That includes 49.4% of those 12 and older; 51.9% of those 18 and older and 74% of those 65 and older.
17,425 individuals, or 46.2% of the total population of Cass County have received at least one dose.
