KOKOMO, Ind. — Six part-time instructors have been honored as the first members of Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo’s new Adjunct Faculty Hall of Fame. Topping the list was Chris Dixon who was honored for having taught more than 3,000 students in the School of Arts, Sciences and Education over more than 150 course sections as an Ivy Tech adjunct.

Others named to the Adjunct Faculty Hall of Fame are, from the School of Arts, Sciences and Education, Michele Harding (2,503 students; 124 sections); Angie Pickard-Clark (1,692 students; 113 sections); Carole Boyer (1,423 students; 107 sections); and Chris Stepp (1,728 students; 104 sections) and from the School of Business, Logistics, and Supply Chain, Linda Hoff (1,219 students; 119 sections).

“We are happy to honor a special group of faculty members who have contributed to our campus and college mission for many semesters,” said Ethan Heicher, Ivy Tech Kokomo interim chancellor. “Adjunct faculty bring a wealth of experience to our classrooms.  Many of them work full time jobs in their fields – in healthcare, in business, in manufacturing or agriculture – and then contribute further to our community by sharing that knowledge and experiences in our classrooms.”

The faculty members were honored at the recent meeting for adjunct instructors to begin the spring 2022 semester.

“As adjunct faculty exceed the 100-courses-taught mark in the future, their names will be added to the campus’s Adjunct Hall of Fame as recognition for their commitment and contribution to our campus community,” Heicher said.
