LMU announces planned electric outage for morning of January 27, 2022 in area of West CR 400 N

The Logansport Municipal Utilities’ electric department will be making system improvements, replacing a pole that was damaged during severe weather, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 that require a planned electric outage for more than a dozen homes.

The affected homes are in the area of West County Road 400N heading west from Royal Center
Pike. Homes on and around 600W, 300N, 525W, 475W, 500W will also be affected.

Please review the shaded areas of the attached map. The project will begin at 9 a.m. on January 27, 2022 and should be completed within 2 hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for the planned outage with the following tips:

  • Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity
  • Charge cell phones
  • Unplug computers, televisions, and sensitive electronics.
  • Notify your home security company.
  • Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates.
  • Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
  • Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)

Logansport Municipal Utilities is committed to making system improvements that will increase electric reliability and decrease emergency power outages. Crews will work quickly, while being safe, to restore power as soon as possible.
