STATEHOUSE – State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport) welcomed the following students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.

  • Sheccid Gutierrez, from Logansport, attends Pioneer Jr. Sr. High School (pictured right)
  • Shivani Gutierrez, from Logansport, attends Pioneer Jr. Sr. High School (pictured left)
  • Kolbe Hunt, from Amboy, attends Swayzee Elementary School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

“I love meeting Senate pages from Senate District 18 and answering the questions they have about the legislative process,” Donato said. “It is very important for young Hoosiers to learn about state government, and this program is the perfect way for them to receive an immersive education.”

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
