KOKOMO, Ind. – The many opportunities available in a range of healthcare careers will be the focus March 8 when Ivy Tech Community College’s Kokomo Campus presents “Tuesday@theTech – Nursing and Health Sciences Edition.” The event is set for 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, March 8, at the campus at 1815 E. Morgan St.
“Tuesdays@theTech” are designed for prospective students, and their families, as time to learn about higher education options offered by Ivy Tech. The March 8 event will emphasize the healthcare opportunities offered at Ivy Tech Kokomo, including nursing and practical nursing as well as programs in the School of Health Sciences, including paramedic science, surgical technologist, medical assisting, dental assisting, and healthcare specialist.
“We hope students and parents will plan to participate and learn what’s available on our new state-of-the-art campus,” said Tami Shepard, who recently took the position of dean of the School of Health Sciences for Ivy Tech Kokomo. “They will have the opportunity to tour the campus, sit in on classes, and see the labs filled with the latest high-tech equipment that simulate modern medical facilities in our area.
“It would be a great use of a ‘college visit day’ to learn more about how Ivy Tech can get you on your way with a highly qualified faculty and the lowest costs in Indiana higher education,” Shepard concluded.
