Logansport High School graduate gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

Last Updated on March 1, 2022 by Indiana House Republicans

STATEHOUSE – Logansport High School graduate Blake Martin is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Ethan Manning (R-Logansport) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2022 legislative session.

Martin, a Logansport native, is the son of Obie and Becky Martin. He is a senior at Indiana University Kokomo majoring in business management.

“The fast-paced nature of being an intern, coupled with the many intelligent mentors you have access to, amounts to an exhilarating and enriching experience at the Statehouse,” Martin said.

As a legislative intern, Martin corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails, while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

“We are fortunate to have an incredibly strong internship program attracting talented Hoosiers like Blake to work at the Statehouse,” Manning said. “He is networking and career-building, and doing a good job managing his responsibilities and representing Logansport well.”

Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of the legislative session.
