Logansport resident gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

Last Updated on March 8, 2022 by Office of State Senator Stacey Donato

STATEHOUSE – Kellyn Harrison is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2022 legislative session, said State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport).

Harrison, a resident of Logansport, is the daughter of Scott and Jennifer Harrison. She graduated from Twin Lakes High School and is a senior at Ball State University, where she studies journalism and telecommunications for her bachelor’s degree, and emerging media, design and development for her master’s degree.

“The Indiana Senate internship is an amazing opportunity for students to receive a firsthand legislative experience tailored to their interests,” Donato said. “Kellyn has represented our community well and it has been wonderful watching her grow professionally.”

As a press secretary and multimedia intern, Harrison writes news releases, columns and e-newsletters, takes photos of session, and helps correspond with members of the media.

“Interning for the Indiana Senate has been a whirlwind,” Harrison said. “I have enjoyed learning the public relations side of communications and assisting in Hoosiers’ access to legislative information.”

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by March 14.
