On Saturday, March 12, 2022 at around 2234 (10:34 p.m.), the Logansport Fire Department was dispatched for a confirmed structure fire at 2027 Spear St.
Logansport Police Department arrived on scene first and advised that there were heavy flames present on the west side of the structure.
They were unable to advise if anyone was inside the residence. Fire crews arrived on scene at 2236 (10:36 p.m.) Crews then entered the residence to conduct a primary search. While searching the first floor they located two victims – a 29-year-old female and a 42-year-old male. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Fire Marshall’s office was requested and arrived on scene along with Logansport Fire Department’s Investigator and Logansport Police Department Detective. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Responding agencies were Logansport Fire Department, Logansport Police Department, Cass County EMS, Indiana State Fire Marshall’s Office, Cass County Coroners office.
