The Cass County Humane Society’s (CCHS) Board of Directors has recently created a new Junior Board that will convene monthly at the shelter located at 700 Water Street.

OPEN CALL-OUT for the next meeting is Wednesday July 13th at 5:30 p.m. and will be comprised of Cass County youth ages 16 through 22 years of age.

The criterion to participate is to be passionate and committed to animal advocacy, and be willing to donate a few hours each month to CCHS special events, education and outreach.

Executive Director, Lisa Terry stated, “I am always excited to work with young people… They are the feeder system to local non profits and clearly the most socially conscious generation ever. With this innovative approach to volunteerism, CCHS will better cultivate new relationships, and bring time, talent and support to our mission. Sydney Baldwin will serve as the chair of this newly formed organization. She is a 2021 Logansport High School graduate and currently attends IUK, majoring in elementary education. She is employed full time at Franklin Elementary School, and is very passionate and committed to animal advocacy. She has already volunteered for several CCHS special events and helped host our Open House that showcased our new reception area and adoption methods. She bakes her own dog treats and sews doggie bandanas that she has contributed to us this past year. We all look forward to working with her and this new group of volunteers.”
