Logansport celebrates completion of pickleball, basketball and NFC Fitness Courts at Riverside Park

The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department, Logansport Memorial Hospital and the Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the new National Fitness Campaign’s (NFC) Fitness Court at Riverside Park.

Following the ribbon cutting, demonstrations and exhibition games were held to celebrate the completion of this sports complex at Riverside Park.

The completion of the NFC Fitness Court is part of an overall improvement to this area of Riverside Park. Construction was completed of 2 basketball courts, 2 pickleball courts, and the Fitness Court which was purchased from the National Fitness Campaign.

In addition, a new drinking fountain has been installed as well as the exterior restroom on the west end of the McHale Complex has been renovated to be fully accessible. Additional parking is also now available on Riverside Drive.

This project is being paid for with a Federal Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant, a grant from the National Fitness Campaign, Logansport CEDIT Funds, as well as Logansport TIF funds. Logansport Memorial Hospital and the Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation have also made a $50,000 donation as the key sponsor of the National Fitness Campaign Fitness Court.
