Anastasia Mary Canning Nolte, 62, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2022, while celebrating her belated birthday at the Blue Chip in Michigan City.

Born August 29, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter Canning and Valentina (Anikew) Canning, who survives.

On November 10, 1997, in the Elvis Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married Robert Nolte, who survives.

Anastasia was a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) who had worked in home health care for many years.

A member of the Church of Christ at Logansport, Anastasia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family beyond all measure. More importantly, she cherished her role as “Grandma” and times spent with family were the best times in her life. She passed away doing what she loved, having fun with her family at the Blue Chip Resort, She also enjoyed a good game of cards. An outdoorsy gal, Anastasia loved cook-outs, camping and fishing, again, it was always a family affair.

Surviving with her husband of nearly 25 years, Robert Nolte, and their children, Nicole (Charles) Budach, Westmont, IL, Sheri (Roy) Zamora, Walton, IN, and Robert Nolte, Jr., DeKalb, IL; her precious grandchildren, Molly, Edward, Alisyia, Christina, Mirikle, Hannah and Camden; four brothers, Walter (Terri) Canning, Michael Canning, Johnny (Debra) Canning, and Patrick (Shilo) Canning; Elizabeth (Gino) Gueli, and Mary (Paul) Jones. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Visitation hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 15 in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.

A funeral service celebrating Anastasia’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16 in the funeral chapel with Jeff Strite officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
