Fall injures one, requiring high angle rope rescue

At 07:57 am on Sunday, March 26, 2023 Logansport Fire Department, along with Clymers Fire Department and Cass County EMS were dispatched to ADM Grain located at 2626 South County Road 275 West for a male subject with a possible broken leg and was located underground in a tunnel.

On arrival it was determined the only way to remove the patient was to perform a high angle rope rescue.  The male had fallen approximately 15 feet and had a broken leg. The rope system was rigged and the victim was removed from the underground tunnel.  He was taken to an awaiting medical helicopter and was subsequently transported to an Indianapolis hospital.  It was approximately 46 minutes from arrival of responders until the victim was removed.

Agencies responding were Logansport Fire Department, Clymers Fire Department, Cass County EMS, and Parkview Samaritan helicopter.
