Planned electric outage scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2023 on Barlett & Shultz Streets in Logansport

A brief planned power outage is scheduled starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023. as the electric department removes tree limbs growing into power lines.

The area affected will be the 500 and 600 blocks between Bartlett and Shultz Streets on the southwest side of town.

The outage should only last up to 2 hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for the planned outage with the following tips:

-Have a plan to maintain use of any medical equipment dependent on electricity

-Charge cell phones

-Unplug computers, televisions, and sensitive electronics

-Notify your home security company

-Know how to manually operate garage doors and electric gates

-Minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage

-Turn off all heat-producing appliances (stoves, toaster ovens, irons, hair curlers, etc)
