Joshua Alan “Josh” Balough

Joshua Alan Balough, 47, of Logansport, passed away peacefully, with his fishing pole in hand, on Friday, October 13, 2023, at one of his favorite fishing holes along the Wabash, just off the Little Turtle Waterway. Having battled heart disease for many years, Josh suffered a sudden, massive heart attack.

Born September 16, 1976, in Logansport, he was the son of Terry and Terri (Younce) Balough, who survive in Logansport.

He was a 1995 graduate of West Central High School where he was active in football and baseball. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville. 

Josh was an excellent chef and had worked at his parents’ restaurant, the West Side Diner, prior to suffering a stroke in 2020.

An avid fisherman, Josh loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, especially at France Park. Josh absolutely loved cooking – the hotter the dish, the better. Making sushi was one of his favorite creations. He was a huge fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Josh was gifted with an epic sense of humor. His endearing personality left everyone laughing for more.

Surviving with his parents are three daughters who he loved very much, Braylin Balough, Chloe Balough and Ellie Balough; and one precious grandson, 6-month-old,Desmond Sanders.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, October 19 in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service starting at 2 p.m. Dawn Fisher will officiate.

Following the funeral, burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
