Work may begin soon on solar project near Walton and Anoka

Residents may see work beginning south of Anoka and north of Walton between Cass County Roads 850E and 375E.

The Cass County Planning Department states that Appleseed Solar has received the required state permits to begin bringing in equipment to start moving dirt.

According to their website, the Appleseed Solar project is an innovative solar project proposed for Cass County, Indiana that will have a capacity of up to 200 megawatts of clean, renewable, American-made solar energy.

It is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun.
