Two injured in May 14, 2024 crash

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at approximately 4:04 p.m. Cass County Central Dispatch received a call of a two-vehicle crash at State Road 25 and County Road 300 South. Deputy Ryan Preston responded to the crash along with several other deputies and public safety agencies. The responding agencies included the Clinton Township Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Logansport Fire Department, Cass County Emergency Management and Cass County Emergency Medical Services.
Initial scene assessment found a vehicle travelling southwest on State Road 25 struck a vehicle that was travelling southeast on County Road 300 South.
Caleb Criss, age 20, of rural Logansport, IN, was driving a 2003 Infiniti passenger car south bound on County Road 300 South when he failed to yield the right of way to a southbound vehicle. Criss’ vehicle was struck by a southbound 2008 GMC pickup truck driven by Brett Bryan, age 53, of rural Logansport, IN.
Caleb Criss was transported by ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital with non-life threating injuries after he was extricated from his vehicle by fire personnel.
Brett Bryan was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The pickup truck was pulling a trailer with tandem 1,000 gallon agricultural anhydrous ammonia tanks. No ammonia was released into the atmosphere as a result of this incident. The tanks were empty and remained structurally intact during the crash. Both vehicles and trailer came to rest in the median of SR 25. Traffic was restricted in the area for approximately two hours.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
