Logansport Mayor Chris Martin announced at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 that the City of Logansport Facebook page would be deactivated. The City of Logansport YouTube channel where various meetings are streamed and recorded can be found here.

Mayor Martin issued the following statement as a press release on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

“I have chosen to temporarily deactivate our Facebook page due to the increase of hate and bullying being posted on our social media. Social media is not a right, it’s a privilege. Neglecting our professional and government run social media will not be tolerated. The hate will not be tolerated. The bullying will not be tolerated. Legal language is being added to our Facebook page to protect this community from false information and hate. Your news sources in the City of Logansport and Cass County are Iron Horse Broadcasting, Cass County Online, Logansport Re-Imagined and the Pharos-Tribune. A Facebook satire page is NOT news.”

Thank you,
Chris Martin, Mayor
