Samuel L. Strasser, age 76, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 2, 1947, he was the son of William and Elma Strasser of Logansport.

On May 12, 1966, Sam was married to Jean Paige by Rev. James Holt at Bethel Tabernacle in Logansport. They were married for 58 years.

Sam proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in the 1960’s. He always had lots of stories to tell.

Sam and Jean enjoyed traveling with family all across the United States by rail and car, and also in Europe by rail. Sam enjoyed the NFL and MLB and old Westerns and more. He enjoyed cooking, feeding a large family every holiday, especially making peanut butter/chocolate fudge at Christmas.

Sam retired in Quality Control from Chrysler in 2006, after 28- and one-half years of employment.

Sam is survived by his wife, Jean; three children, Christina Rombold, Eleanor (Mark) LeDonne, and Shelby Strasser.

He was blessed with many loving grandchildren, Andrew Elliott, Seth (Kimberly) Rombold, Brianna & Keegan Pyke, Jacob LeDonne, Sabrina Rombold, Zach (Adriana) LeDonne, Brandon Straser, and Sophia LeDionne.

Surviving are great grandchildren, Autumn Rombold, Amilia Rose Valdez, Greyson Pyke, Delilah Rombold, Beckett LeDonne, Tatum Pyke, Henry LeDonne, Coleson Rombold, and Sebastian Rombold.

Also surviving are sisters, Marsha Pursch, New Hampshire, Kathy Boehme, Logansport; brothers, Darrel (Angie) Benn, Logansport; sister-in-law, Marian Benn, Logansport.

Those who predeceased Sam were brothers, Richard Benn, William (Kay) Benn, Logansport, Michael Benn, Logansport; sister, Deloris Hiltibidal, Logansport; brothers-in-law, Mark Boehme, Logansport, and Thomas Pursch, Wolfboro, New Hampshire.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
