Thomas L. “Tom” Young

Thomas L Young, 67, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 9, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Indiana, following a two-year battle with several health issues.
Born June 14, 1957, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, he was the son of the late George H. Young II and Helen (Trostheim) Young.
Tom was a 1976 graduate of Logansport High School. He had previously worked for Wilson Foods and Trelleborg before obtaining his CDL and becoming a truck driver.
A litelong boat enthusiast, Tom loved ski boating at Lake Manitou in Rochester. When he was younger, he enjoyed swimming and biking.
Tom is survived by three daughters. Kristy (Mike) Shidler, of Monticello, Sydney Young, of Fort Wayne, and Cassidy Young, of Terre Haute; one son, Ryne Young, of Idaville, two brothers, George (Joan) Young III. of Toluca, Illinois, and Robert (Lori)Young, of Medina, Ohio; two grandchildren, Allison (Michael) Bathke, Fort Wayne, and C.J. Hunt; of Monticello; nieces, Susan Pasquale, and Emily (Peter) Johnson; nephews, A.J. (Tina) Pasquale, and Nathan Young; and one great-nephew, Parker Johnson. He was also loved and missed by several cousins.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Pasquale; and several aunts and uncles who meant a lot to him.
A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 16 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Darl Clemons.
Visitation will be held, starting at noon, prior to the service on Saturday.
Interment, at a later date, will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Toluca, Illinois.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Woodbridge Health Campus for the love and care Tom received the past two years and suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Woodbridge Patient Activity Fund to enhance the programs he and his fellow residents enjoyed.
