Veterans Day 2024 Observances and Closings

We’ve compiled the following list of Veterans Day closings and observances and will update if more information is received. If your business or organization is planning an event, please add the details to CassCountyCalendar.com!

VETERANS DAY PARADE: The Cass County Veterans Council presents the annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Logansport. Parade lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. A ceremony at 4th and Broadway, near the Cass County Government Building, will begin at 10 a.m. The parade will then travel east on Broadway to the Logansport City Building for another ceremony.

LHS VETERANS DAY PROGRAM: Logansport High School invites all Cass County Veterans to attend the annual Veterans Day program. Nov. 11, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Logansport High School Berry Bowl. Arrive at the Berry Bowl at 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Riley Schlosser at 574-753-0441 Ext 20502 or email Mr. Vincent Huffman at huffmanv@lcsc.12.in.us. Include the following information in your RSVP: Name, rank, branch of service, years served and your military job. Did you serve during a war? If so, which one? This year’s guest speaker is Technical Sergeant Lucy Reyna.

COURTHOUSE: The Cass County Government Building will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, 2024.

LOGANSPORT CITY BUILDING: The Logansport City Building will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day.

LOGANSPORT UTILITIES: Logansport Utilities’ offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day.

BMV: The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) announced that all BMV branches will be closed Saturday, November 9 through Monday, November 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday, November 12. Visit this link for a list of branch hours by location. Customers can also complete over a dozen common transactions at a BMV Connect kiosk or online at myBMV.com.

POST OFFICES: USPS will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day.

BANKS: Banks are usually closed on Veterans Day. Check with your bank for their hours.

STATE PARKS: All veterans and active-duty military personnel, and everyone in their vehicle, will be admitted free to DNR-managed state parks, reservoir properties, state forest recreation areas, and off-road state recreation areas on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11. This includes admission to Falls of the Ohio State Park’s Interpretive Center. Veterans and military personnel should simply let the gate attendant at the property they visit know that they are either a veteran or serving and on active duty. Hair cuts
House of Beauty – Free hair cut for all veterans throughout the year!!
Great Clips– On November 11, veterans and active military service members can go to any U.S. Great
Clips salon and get a free haircut or a card for a free haircut that can be redeemed during a future
visit. Non-military customers who get a haircut at a Great Clips salon on November 11 will also receive
a free haircut card that can be given to a veteran or active military service member in their life to
thank them for their service.

Organizations
Elks Lodge– Monday November 11th. Free Chicken and Noodle Dinner lunch 11a.m.- 2 p.m. (ID
required)
Main Street Community Church – November 9th. Chicken and Noodle Dinner 4:30-6:00 pm Free will
offering ALL VETERANS EAT FREE!
