Cass County Commissioners to consider addition of stop sign at Orchard Hill and Delaware Road

An ordinance to add a stop sign at the intersection where Orchard Hill stops for Delaware Road will be on the agenda for consideration by the Cass County Commissioners at their meeting on Feb. 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room at the Cass County Government Building.

The text of the proposed ordinance is below:

ORDINANCE 2025-02

            AN ORDINANCE OF THE CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AMENDING TITLE VII, CHAPTER 71, SCHEDULE IV, SECTION B OF THE CASS COUNTY CODE

          WHEREAS, the Cass County Commissioners feel a necessity to change traffic control devices at the intersection of Orchard Hill and Delaware Road in order to protect and accommodate the general traveling public using public road intersections.

          WHEREAS, pursuant to further continuing investigation, the Cass County Commissioners have decided that such traffic control devices need to be changed in and about such intersection.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS:

          Section I.  Title VII, Chapter 71, Schedule IV, Section B-5 of the Cass County Code is hereby amended to add a stop sign:

  1. Stop sign at this intersection:

Orchard Hill stops for Delaware Road;

Section II.  All prior ordinances or parts hereof inconsistent with any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section III.  This ordinance hereby passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the County Commissioners of Cass County, Indiana, the _3rd day of  February_____ , 2025.
