City Call and Text Center provides access for non-English speakers

In 2024, the city of Logansport implemented a call center to give non-English speaking community members access to city resources through their partnership with our Language Matters team. These efforts have begun to have widespread impact on the Logansport community, and we are so excited to announce the expansion of our Logansport services!

The new service available at no charge in Logansport is our Multilingual Text Center. This center is designed to assist residents who speak languages other than English and gives us the ability to text in over 100 languages, providing real-time communication support and facilitating smooth, efficient interactions between community members and city services.

The languages the text center supports include Haitian Creole, Burmese, Spanish, and many others, and we encourage all residents to take advantage of this free service.

To do so, non-English speakers can simply send us a text message in their own language at 260-328-5122. English-speakers in need of assistance with a non-English speaker can also text that number. Our team will determine the language being used and respond at the earliest convenience!

We so look forward to serving the Logansport community with our new capability as we help with daily errands, police reports, apartment searching, property inspections, utilities, street-department help, background checks, and any other non-English interaction.
