Logansport Memorial Hospital lifts mask mandate effective Jan. 29, 2025
Last Updated on January 28, 2025 by Cass County Communication Network
Effective January 29, 2025, Logansport Memorial Hospital will lift the mask mandate due to an improvement in illness rates within our organization and throughout the community. However, illness is still in the community so it is important to stay diligent in practices to reduce the spread of illness.
Visitors experiencing respiratory symptoms should continue to wear a mask while in the building.
Reminders during respiratory illness outbreaks:
- Practice good hand hygiene.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Do not touch the front of your mask.
- For those wearing masks, if your mask gets moist or soiled, change it within 15 minutes.
Our Environmental Services team will continue to execute enhanced cleaning protocols to help reduce the risk of spreading respiratory illnesses. Surfaces such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, light switches, and hand railings present opportunity for increased risk of transmission. Be sure to perform hand hygiene after touching frequently touched public surfaces such as these.
As a reminder, LMH is already in visitor restrictions due to the respiratory season and the spike in community respiratory illnesses. Restricting visitors helps to keep our inpatients from experiencing any additional illness or complications. Visitor restrictions include 2 healthy adults at a time to visit inpatients. No children under 18 are allowed as visitors.
