Renegade Beard Club seeking Indiana members
Last Updated on January 17, 2025 by Cass County Communication Network
Today, we’re diving into the world of rugged style, brotherhood, and grooming excellence as we sit down with Dominic Baker, the driving force behind the Renegade Beard Club Indiana Chapter. Known for its bold community ethos and commitment to community engagement, the Renegade Beard Club has become a symbol of individuality and authenticity. Dominic, with his passion for cultivating both great beards and a supportive culture, has transformed the club into a haven for those who wear their beards with pride and purpose.
In this conversation, we’ll explore the story behind the Renegade Beard Club, its journey from concept to community. Dominic will share insights into the club’s vision, the challenges it has faced, and what it truly means to be a renegade in today’s world.
Renegade Beard Club was started on December 2, 2023. We are an international club that focuses our energy on doing charitable acts to help the communities we serve. We have several chapters in various states and countries around the world. When the creation of the club was announced on social media, Indiana President Jekyll (Dominic Baker) reached out to congratulate the founder and conversation ensued. At the end of the conversation, Jekyll pledged to join the Renegade as the first member in Indiana, therefore creating the Indiana Chapter. As previously stated, the club’s main focus is focusing our energy on doing charitable acts to help the communities that we serve. Our other focus is Brotherhood. Often men’s emotions and thoughts are often overlooked by society. It is in that we try to be there for one another. No matter what walk of life or past you may have been through we at Renegade will accept you as family. This is a family like nothing I’ve ever seen. Renegade is different than other organizations because, as I stated, this brotherhood is nothing I’ve ever seen. To see the commitment to each other’s overall well-being is amazing.
To become a part of Renegade Beard Club is very simple! First off, if interested, reach out to our newly made social media platforms, or reach out to our Chapter Scout, Rex Dobson. After that you will be sent a link to download the Discord app. Once that is downloaded and you create your profile, an International Scout will reach out to go over basic rules and bylaws of the club. You’ll then enter your Prospect stage. You will be Prospect for 30 days. After that 30 days you will have your promotion call with the Indiana Chapter President Jekyll, Indiana Chapter Vice President Bear (Jeremy Dobson), and an International Board member. You will then be transferred to our Facebook Messenger Chapter group chat. You are eligible to promote to an open board position after 30 days after Patch in date. Renegade Beard Club only has one qualification, and that is you must have facial hair of any kind. Our activities in the Indiana Chapter include Monthly Chapter meetings, quarterly meetups and Charity/Fundraiser events. All are on our yearly calendar so there is complete transparency. Most of the Indiana Chapter is pretty active and have been in the chapter since the creation. The ones that have joined since are notified of the expectations of the chapter. We all are our brother’s keeper and we understand that we all have things that come up in life that we may need help with.
The Indiana Chapter hosted one Charity event last year. We hosted a canned food drive to help the less fortunate. We teamed up with the Emmaus Mission of Logansport in efforts to help the citizens of Logansport not be hungry. Food should not be something you worry about. Our chapter collected and donated 869 items in that event. We also attended a Trunk or Treat at Columbia Elementary School hosted by Four County Counseling Center of Logansport. A few members were present and passed out candy to the local children. The Indiana Chapter supports various missions, including drug addiction recovery, suicide awareness, veterans, and overall success for our communities in any way we can serve.
As previously stated, the Indiana Chapter has hosted or attended two charity or community projects thus far. Our main focus at the moment is really helping the communities in which our members reside, and then branching out to other communities once our 501c3 status has been approved and we have gained the approval and support of others. As stated before there are monthly meetings for all Patched members, there are Chapter Board meetings for all that hold a position on the board every other month as these will be longer meetings to comb over the finer details of the Chapter’s progress. All meetings for Patched members are carried out through Facebook messenger group chat. During our meetings we discuss themes or locations of quarterly meet ups. A vote is then put into place to confirm. There is only one rule when deciding where to have these in person meet ups and that is it HAS to be kid friendly. Most of in the Chapter have kids or loved ones that we would like to attend as well. We often collaborate with other chapters for bigger charity events.
When I spoke with International President and Founder Beanz (Dustin Lightfoot) I loved the idea and the mission of his newly created club. I foresaw great success for his club and I knew that I wanted to be a part of the change and be a part of something that helped the community in a positive way. Today there is so much negativity in the world and if we as a Chapter can help shed just a little bit of light in someone’s day, then our mission was a success. As Chapter President, my greatest experience was walking into the Emmaus Mission Homeless Shelter and seeing how they operate, how happy they were for what they had and for our commitment to helping them. I left there with a sense of gratitude, but still I left knowing we could do more for the community.
My biggest challenge thus far is gaining members. Most people frankly just don’t know who we are. I’m really hoping after this year’s success that will be a different story. As Chapter President and a father of three kids, I understand that some people have things happen in their lives that are out of their control. Most of the members reach out to let me know and I help them any way that I can.
My goals for this year is to get our Social Media Platforms relaunched. Then we will start gearing up for our in person meet ups. Once weather starts getting nicer, our goal is to obtain more charity events we can do to help our communities. In the next few years I would like there to be 100 members in the Indiana Chapter spread across the Hoosier State. Also, I would like to collaborate with bigger organizations and city offices in hope of helping bigger causes in the state as well! There are no current events on the docket at this point in time other than working to obtain our 501c3 status. I foresaw the Renegade Beard Club being the biggest Beard clubs in the entire country. The brotherhood we share is one that indescribable.
As a part of the club, I went down to the Indianapolis 500, and spoke with a non-profit organization about a potential partnership in the future. This would be a huge deal and allow us to advertise our chapter on a much bigger scale. The overall culture in the Indiana Chapter is very relaxed. Most of us in the Chapter have been in the chapter since the start. We have all created a bond with one another that in unbreakable. We all experience dark times in our lives and its important that you surround yourself with people that genuinely have your best interest at heart. That is what you have in the Indiana Chapter. We all have helped each other in the rough patches in our lives. We have had one member participate in a beard competition in the past. I hope this just the beginning of our Chapter and stoked to see the progression. If you have any other questions about the Renegade Beard Club Indiana Chapter, feel free to reach out!
