
Clark County man arrested for murder

Logansport – A criminal investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Mike Lorona has resulted in the arrest of John Loran, 56, Clark County, IN, on criminal charges of murder, aggravated battery, and battery.
On February 6, 2025, Detective Lorona began an investigation into an alleged battery, which was reported to have taken place at the Logansport State Hospital on February 4, 2025. The preliminary investigation revealed Loran, who was a patient at the Logansport State Hospital, had battered two other patients inside the facility. During the altercation, Travis Lunsford, 45, London, KY, sustained critical injuries. Lunsford was transported by ambulance to an area hospital in critical condition. The other patient sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released.
On February 16, 2025, Lunsford succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Notification to the family of the deceased has been made.
Loran was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Cass County Jail.
