Logansport Savings Bank proudly announces the yearlong celebration of their 100th anniversary as a local business in Logansport and Cass County. This rare milestone is significant and not easily achieved. It is estimated that there are less than 1,000 companies in the United States that have survived 100 years – it equates to less than half a percent of all U.S. businesses.

The bank’s charter as the Logansport Building and Loan Association was officially established on March 31, 1925. Over the past century, we have grown and evolved into a full-service community bank, offering retail and commercial banking across the north-central Indiana region.

A renovation and expansion of the bank’s campus in downtown Logansport is currently underway, and plans to open a second branch location in Peru, Indiana are also in progress. Both of these important projects will likely come to completion in this 100th year.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Logansport Savings Bank is planning a variety of events and activities to take place throughout the year. These events and activities may be hosted by Logansport Savings Bank, or celebrated as partnerships or part of existing community events where we already sponsor or participate. To stay up-to-date with all that’s planned, please follow and connect with Logansport Savings Bank on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

“Being able to celebrate our 100th anniversary is exciting, yet humbling,” said Chad Higgins, Logansport Savings Bank President and CEO. “It is not something we take for granted. It has taken dedicated leadership, a strong commitment to our community, and a lot of resilience and creativity to endure through changes across the banking industry, the economy, and around the world that have taken place in the last 100 years. We believe that our purpose as a community bank is not just to offer convenient and innovative banking products – it’s also to fund the dreams of small business owners, to provide stable careers for our employees, and to give back with financial support to organizations making the communities we serve great places to live and work. That’s primarily what we hope to share and to celebrate with our customers and communities in the coming year.”

“It is a privilege to be part of the bank’s leadership at this pivotal and special moment in time,” said Tony Firmani, Chairman of the Logansport Savings Bank Board of Directors. “Honoring our history is important to us, but we are very excited for the current growth that is positioning us for the future. Our investment in the building projects happening in Logansport and planned for Peru is a testament to how we value local service, local leadership, and a local presence in the communities we serve. We celebrate this milestone anniversary by looking forward and identifying ways we can make the next 100 years even better than the last.”

Preparations have begun for the 100th anniversary events and activities. As a reminder, Logansport Savings Bank welcomes any memorabilia related to the bank and its history of serving the community to be used in the celebrations. Anything shared or received may be used for marketing materials or display purposes.
