Info on spam emails and texts from TxTag

You may have received an email regarding unpaid toll notifications via text or email message like the one below: 

These messages are scams, and users should not click on any of the links.

Clicking on the link will take you to a form to make your toll payment. We are not aware of any malicious items being delivered simply by clicking on the link. If someone has entered in their credit card details/submitted a payment then they need to have those payments stopped and new cards issued.
 
The State does not send unpaid toll notifications via text or email messages, and the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) is working with the company that was used to deliver those messages to stop any further communications.
 
The State of Indiana contract with this company ended on 12/31/24, but they did not remove the State’s account. A contractor’s account was hacked and used to send those messages.
