Even after retirement, Mike always found ways to stay busy. Whether it was chopping wood for the house or picking black raspberries, he wanted to be out in his woods. He loved fishing in his creek, hiking the trails, camping, mushroom hunting, shooting targets, staying in the cabin with his brothers, and hunting deer. Every year he took pride in his black raspberry pie and jam,and would often host family gatherings to enjoy the treats he had made. Mike was strong in his faith, and set out to be an example of what it meant to love God. He always made time for his family, and especially loved bonding with his grandchildren.
