Update from Logansport Police Department on July 29, 2025 incident in downtown Logansport

The following press release from the Logansport Police Department was received at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025:

Press Release: Case#25-08284

On 07/29/25 at approximately 20:38 Officers with the Logansport Police Department were dispatched to the area of 6th St. and North St. in reference to a male subject (39 YOA) threatening another male with a knife. As Officers were enroute Cass County Dispatch advised the male suspect was walking east bound in the 600 Blk of E. Broadway and began stabbing a male subject (63 YOA) near a park bench on the sidewalk. Officers were able to take the 39 year old male into custody immediately upon arrival to the scene. The 63 year old male sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to Parkview Hospital and later flown to Parkview in Ft. Wayne. The victim is believed to be in critical but stable condition at time of this release.

The 39 year old male was charged at this time with Assault with a deadly weapon (Lvl-3) and Intimidation with a deadly weapon (Lvl-5).

The Logansport Police Department was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, Logansport Fire Department, Cass County EMS, and Parkview Hospital.
