Aug. 22, 2025 crash in Cass County injures three

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Cass County Deputy Alex Denny observed a crash occur on US 24/35 at CR 325 East. Other deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash along with the Logansport Police Department, Indiana State Police, Logansport Fire Department, Walton Fire Department, and Cass County Emergency Medical Services. Initial scene assessment found a passenger vehicle had been traveling eastbound on US24/US35 before turning northbound into the crossover at County Road 325 East. The passenger car turned into the path of a westbound pickup truck.

Investigation by Deputy Alex Denny found 19-year-old Delorean Mason of Bainbridge, IN, had been driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser eastbound on US 24/US 35 when she slowed and turned northbound into the crossover at County Road 325 East. She continued onto the westbound US 24/US 35 lanes where she failed to yield to a westbound 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 35-year-old Michael Klish of Louisville, Kentucky. Before the crash, Deputy Denny clocked the 2024 Silverado by RADAR at 85 MPH.

Delorean Mason and her 11-year-old passenger had to be extricated by firefighters from the Chrysler. Medical helicopters were summoned to the scene for both occupants. They were flown to separate hospitals in Indianapolis with serious injuries.

Michael Klish received serious injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Parkview Logansport and later transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. After being medically cleared from Lutheran Hospital, Michael Klish was incarcerated at the Cass County Detention Facility for the following charges:

Operating While Intoxicated, causing Serious Bodily Injury – Level 5 Felony

Reckless Driving – A Misdemeanor

Dealing Marijuana – A Misdemeanor

Possession of Marijuana – A Misdemeanor

Both vehicles were towed from the scene with substantial damage. The roadway was partially closed for approximately one hour for crash investigation and clean up.
