Irene B. Gill, age 101, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Indianapolis, her current place of residence.

Born in Peru on Saturday, May 3, 1924, she was the daughter of Sherlie and Pansy M. Fodge Jackson.

Irene was a 1942 graduate of Peru High School. Over her many years, she had worked at as a switchboard operator at Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Peru and Indianapolis, secretary in the office of Justice of the Peace Homer Bernhardt, Reid Roofing Company, Nobil Shoe Store at the Logansport Mall and Area V.

She had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Our Lady of the Snows Study Club. In later years she attended the First Assembly of God (Life Gate) Church and was active in AGLOW.

She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, the Indianapolis Star and solving crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” (Bob) Bracy, Rogers, Arkansas; son, Thomas (Jackie) Gill, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stephen M. (Keisa) Gill, Shawn J. A. (Mia) Gill, Shara C. E. Alvardo, Shealey M. (Tony) Pena, Stephanie R. (Brian) Lanter, R. Michael (Mary) Bracy, Patricia M. (Mike) Price, Amy K. (Jeff) Codallo, Jordan T. (Dena) Gill; Thirty-one great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen “Steve” and Sharon Gill; granddaughter, Schantell Gill; two great grandchildren, Kalah Gill and Sam Baker.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 3rd, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

The funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home, with Andy Weil officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Kroeger-Crain Funeral & Cremation is handling all arrangements.
