Thomas Edward “Tommy” Maggart, 74, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, in hospice care.

Born March 31, 1952, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Earl R. and Rosemary (Caskey) Maggart.

Tommy graduated from Logansport High School in 1971. He was a lifelong fan of the Beatles and built an impressive vinyl collection of their albums. In his younger years, he enjoyed roller skating at Nick’s and started his own softball team.

He was best known for his love of classic cars. His collection included a 1932 blue Chevy Coupe with flame-like side fins, a sharp 1929 Ford sedan, and his favorite—a 1931 Ford known as the ZZ Eliminator. After meeting ZZ Top, he received permission to make two custom modifications to the car using their trademarked designs.

Tommy was self-employed. He ran a car-detailing business and worked as a DJ at local events, spinning records and setting the tone for good times.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cory John and Jackie Maggart of Vero Beach; two granddaughters, Emma and Sophie; three brothers, Dennis (Carol) Maggart, Earl R. “Rob” Maggart of Logansport, and Timmy (Brenda) Maggart of Nashville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lonnie Maggart.
