Thomas J. Coleman, age 79, of Logansport, passed peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Parkview Logansport Hospital.
Tom was born in Logansport’s St. Joseph’s Hospital on October 14, 1945. He was the youngest son of the late Gilbert and Helen (Frushour) Coleman.
He graduated from Logansport High School in 1963 and attended Indiana State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1967. Tom then served in the United States Navy (four years active duty and two years reserve duty).
Upon returning from the Navy, he worked for the former Joe Herd Ins Agency/Consolidated Union from 1971 to the present. Tom served on multiple boards and was the Board President of the following: Cass Co Chamber of Commerce, Cass Co Salvation Army, Cass Co Carousel.
Tom was also an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport, where he served on the Pastorate Council. He took great pride in mentoring the Knights of the Holy Temple, the high school students who serve at Mass.
Tom’s love of travel led to his purchase of Unique Travel in 1996, where he guided hundreds of tours in 93 countries and all 50 states. Tom was happiest on a floating vessel surrounded by friends and family. If you could not find Tom, check on the bridge at the helm; that is where he would be.
Tom was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and took many bus trips to see them play. He also loved collecting art from his travels and cooking for his family and friends.
Survivors include his two children, Bret Coleman (Krista), Crawfordsville, and Nicole Coleman (Jason Clark), Sweetser.
He is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Dusty), Kokomo; six grandchildren, Andrew Coleman, Tampa FL; Ethan Crawford, Indianapolis, Adrian Crawford, Florida, Elliot Crawford (fiancé, Vivian Alvarado), Florence, Kentucky, and AJ Crawford, Florence, Kentucky; and Vincent Coleman, Crawfordsville; four great-grandchildren; a nephew, Chris (Paty) Coleman, McAllen, Tx; and niece, Wendy (Gary) Fogler, Blue Springs, Mo; and extended family and friends.
