Columbus Day Closings

Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 is Columbus Day and state and federal offices are closed in observance of the holiday. Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 is also Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

The Cass County Government Building will be closed Monday, October 13, 2025.

Walton Town Hall will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 and will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Cass County Recycling District will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, 2025.

All BMV branches will be closed on Saturday, October 11 and Monday, October 13 for Columbus Day and will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The U.S. Postal Service will observe Columbus Day on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025. Post Office locations will be closed in recognition of the federal holiday. Only Priority Mail Express items will be delivered on the holiday, and regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025

Banks are also closed Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 in observance of the federal holiday.

Fall Break for Cass County’s K-12 schools is Oct. 13-17, 2025.

The following closures are not holiday-related but will take place Oct. 13, 2025:

Logansport Utilities customer service office will be closing early on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025. Open hours and phone calls for customer service will be open 8:30am to 11am. Regular customer service hours will resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that Spencer Park will be closed all day on October 13, 2025. The Parks Department has contracted with Straight Cut Tree Service to remove a large tree near the restroom, and will prohibit vehicles to exit the park.  Pedestrians should also find alternative locations for walking on that day, as being around this work will be hazardous.
